Data First

Data First, The City’s Data Challenge, is a challenge between Dubai’s government and semi-government data strategy partners to accelerate the collection and submission of data, allowing the city to deliver insightful use cases that will support our city’s leaders, government sector entities and private sector businesses in making more informed and data-backed decisions.

Data First will judge the growth of all our Data Champions efforts across 5 key criteria:

Compliance with the Dubai Data Law
Active participation in Digital Dubai Data workshops
Collaboration on government and semi-government entities’ data requests
Increase data availability by participating in Dubai Pulse data cycles
Fostering a Data Driven Culture within each participant’s respective entity

Scheduled to be a 6 month challenge beginning mid-July to mid-January, we will track the progress of each of the respective participating entities monthly, and continuously host workshops encouraging them to do better. We will host an award ceremony in January 2020 awarding the top 3 entities who have made the most progress across the 5 criteria.
